Udupi Candidates List almost final, Ticket to Bhat, Yashpal, Sunil and Haladi Confirmed?
Bengaluru: Sources from Bengaluru revealed that for the Assembly elections the list of candidates for five constituencies in Udupi district has almost been finalized by the high command.
In the last elections, the BJP had succeeded in Karkala constituency. In Kundapur, BJP leader Haladi Srinivas Shetty had resigned the party and contested as an independent candidate and won the elections. In Kaup, Udupi and Byndoor the Congress party won the elections.
From the last four days, the BJP core committee has taken the opinion of the district leaders in Udupi to finalize the candidates. The Core committee has finalized the candidates for Udupi, Kaup, Kundapur and Karkala but for Byndoor the names of Jayaprakash Hegde and Sukumar Shetty have been shortlisted.
The Core committee has finalized candidates for 140 constituencies and the state BJP president Yeddyurappa has taken the list to Delhi for the final announcement. By April 8, the first list of the candidates will be released. The candidates should wait till the high command announces the final list for the forthcoming assembly elections.
Christians and Muslims from Udupi Dist. or Udupi Town too should be active in social works related to political recognition in either BJP or Congress or form a new party, as they are educated, literate, and can serve the society in general with sincerity and transparency. When there are local people of various faiths and various walks of life, governance can be more balanced and better for all.
