Udupi: A 35-year-old man was killed when the car he was driving plunged into the Mattu dam near Katapadi, here on Sunday, July 19.
The deceased has been identified as Sathish (35), a resident of Karkala.
According to the police, on July 19, Sathish was returning from his wife’s house in Karkala to Mattu. When he reached near Katapadi, Mattu, he lost control of the car which fell off the bridge into the river around 11:00 pm.
The locals who noticed the incident alerted the police. Fire tenders arrived at the spot and recovered the body from the river.
A case has been registered in the Kaup Police Station.
