Udupi CMC geared up to welcome Pranab Mukherjee with Garbage!
Udupi: City Municipality Udupi is geared up to welcome the President of India Pranab Mukherjee with waste dumped near the Karavali Junction. It is a disgrace on the part of the administration, despite several complaints to CMC, waste is still lying all over the place emanating bad smell.
Pranab Mukherjee will be visiting Udupi for the first time after becoming the President. He will be visiting Kollur and Sri Krishna Math on June 18. The CMC seems to have taken no steps to clear the waste dumped near the Karavali Junction. Mangalorean.com has reported the issue on June 10 about the CMC for not taking action on the waste dumped in the area which is spoiling the name of the city.
The President will be coming to Mangaluru at 10:25 am and then Udupi by a chopper to Adi-Udupi and the Inspection Bungalow. The president will be arriving at the Sri Krishna Math passing through the Karavali underpass since the road near the Sri Krishna Math is under construction.
The CMC member after reading the report published on mangalorean.com had assured to clear the waste dumped in the area but has not taken any action untill now.
The CMC has also named an ambassador for cleanliness but waste dumped around the city has increased giving the city a bad name. The District in-charge minister has geared up to welcome the president while the sanitation problems in the city still needs to be addressed.
