Udupi: Congress Leaders Need to Answer Their Defeat in ZP and TP Elections – Jayaprakash Hegde

Udupi: “The top brass leaders of Congress should give answer for their defeat in ZP and TP elections and I wish to remain silent,” said Jayaprakash Hegde, Former MP Udupi-Chickmanglur LS constituency.

In response to the telephonic conservation with Mangalorean.com correspondent, in which Mallika Balakrishna Shetty said, “I have been defeated because of Jayaprakash Hegde,” Hegde said that the “Congress leaders said that my contribution was zero and some had even questioned about my existence.”

“I remained silent after I was expelled from Congress, I criticized none, but the recent statements from Congress leaders pained my supporters, they have asked the people to vote for BJP and others and not Congress. Congress would not have suffered this heinous defeated, if I was not expelled,” he added.

“I have been defeated because of Jayaprakash Hegde,” said Mallika Balakrishna Shetty who lost against BJP candidate Sheela K Shetty in Bramhavar ZP constituency. Mallika said that Jayaprakash Hegde and his supporters had played important role in the last ZP elections which had resulted in her victory.

“I will continue as the loyal party worker and continue supporting Congress, the indifferences in the leaders has led to my defeat,” she added emotionally.

Geethanjali Suvarna who won from Kurkal ZP constituency said, “I contested against District in-charge Minister Vinay Kumar Sorake and not the Congress candidate, the people have supported me and will work hard for their betterment.”

congress current party workers along with Oscar / pramod should go to Hegde and apologise and bring him back to party with masive rally and ask people to sorry for the past mistake… if not Hegde should contest against up comming MLA election joining BJP…. that’s all we want

Oscar Fernandes is a good-for-nothing fellow. I would not trust this fellow as far as I can trust him. He has to thank Sonia Gandhi for his progress in the Congress Party.

I would not like to shake hands with him.

I think it is 100% true that J P Hegde’s ouster has made this difference. Looks like Congress is nearly wiped out in Udupi zilla
