Udupi: Consumers should be aware of their rights, said Vinay Kumar Sorake, Minister for Urban Development and Minister in-charge of the district. He was speaking after inaugurating the ‘World Consumers Day 2015’ at Vaikunta Baliga College of Law here, on March 15.
“Youth are the future of our Nation. They should be educated on the rights and duties of the consumers. The consumer rights should reach out to the poor. 4900 farmers have been given Rs 3 crore for yellow leaf disease. There are no irregularities in the compensation given to the farmers.”
“A deliberate attempt has been made to create fear among the villagers who are affected by the Dr Kasturirangan report. A special gram Sabha in 16 villages was organised in this regard.”
MLA Pramod Madhwaraj, CMC President P Yuvraj, Ramchandra Sharma, Dr Ravindranath Shanbouge, Vice Principal Nirmala of VBCL Yogeshwar and others were present.
