Udupi DC Visits Mangaluru for Magisterial Inquiry into Police Firing
Mangaluru: In connection with the recent police firing, the Deputy Commissioner of Udupi Jagadeesh has arrived in Mangaluru to conduct a magisterial inquiry on December 30.
Deputy Commissioner Jagadeesh visited the DC of Mangaluru, Sindhu and discussed the issue. Later he visited various areas at State bank, City Bus Stand and Nellikai Raod for spot investigation.
On December 19, 2 persons were killed and several others were injured in the police firing and there was a demand for a judicial inquiry into the incident.
To investigate the case the government has appointed Udupi DC Jagadeesh as the Executive Magistrate.
The Executive Magistrate should complete the investigation within 3 months and submit the report to the state government.
