Udupi Dist BJP Yuva Morcha protests against Pratap Simha’s arrest
Udupi: The Udupi district Yuva Morcha members staged a protest in front of the district BJP office Kadiyali here on December 4, condemning the state government’s decision to impose restrictions on the celebration of Hanuma Jayanti and the arrest of Mysuru MP Pratap Simha.
Addressing the protesters former MLA of Udupi Raghupathi Bhat said that the state government is imposing restrictions on celebrating Hindu religious functions. The Congress government has hurt the sentiments of the Hindus by not allowing the celebrations of Hanuma Jayanti. In the last four-and-half years of the Congress government coming to power, the chief minister is targeting Hindu leaders and Hindu organisations. The State government’s policies are only aimed at appeasing the minority communities. We are not against but at the same time Siddaramaiah should respect the sentiments of the Hindu community.
In Udupi district the Dharma Sansad was concluded with the huge support of the leaders of all communities. But the district minister in-charge Pramod Madhwaraj had not supported the programme. Pramod Madhwaraj is known to be a Flex lover. In every celebrations of the minorities Pramod Madhwaraj installs banners across the City wishing success, but he has not even put a single banner with good wishes for the Dharma Sansad. The people of Udupi district will teach him a befitting lesson in the up-coming elections.
Later the protesters burnt the effigy of Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
