Udupi Dist Congress Holds Protest against Fuel Price Hike
Udupi: The Udupi district Congress party on Monday, June 29 protested against the continuous hike in fuel price and urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government to roll back the price.
The Congress party workers gathered in front of the War Memorial, Ajjarkad and shouted slogans against the union government.
Former minister Vinay Kumar Sorake criticised the Central Government for inflating fuel prices at a time when the country is fighting against the coronavirus disease. The Prime Minister and the Goa government have increased petrol and diesel prices so much that the common man cannot afford to buy petrol. This is looting the people, he said.
Former MLA’s U R Sabhapathi, Gopal Poojary District Congress President Ashok Kumar Kodavoor, Vice President Prakyath Shetty, Congress leaders Janardhan Bhandarkar, M A Gaphoor, Joythi Hebbar, Veronica Cornelio, Yathish Karkera, Roshni Oliver, Dr Sunitha Shetty and others were present.
