Udupi District NSUI celebrates Deepavali at Vishwasada Mane

Udupi: With more and more people preferring to lace their Deepawali celebrations with social concerns. The National Students Union India of Udupi district got its members to celebrate the festival of lights with the Abandoned Elders and children’s of Vishwasada Mane orphanage Shankerpura on Thursday, October 19.

Speaking on the occasion Christon D’Almeida president of Udupi District NSUI said that we celebrate Diwali with much fanfare across the country, we must also remember those living in orphanages and old-age homes who could not celebrate the festival for lack of resources. Let this Diwali fill everyone with light, joy and prosperity, he added.

The members distributed Sweets Payasam and other eatable items to inmates on the occasion. The volunteers greeted them with great enthusiasm. There were huge smiles on the faces of the inmates.

District Offices barriers Arthur Charles, Prajwal Kundar, Marsh Sequeira, Mohammed Swalih, Dheeraj, Ashish others were present.
