Udupi District Police Observe Ayudha Puja

Udupi: The Udupi District police performed Ayudha Puja to the rifles and other armaments at the police headquarters on October 24.

Apart from the weapons, the police vehicles looked clean and gleaming, decorated with flowers.

Udupi District police superintendent N Vishnuvardhan, Udupi CPI Manjunath and other police personnel took part in the Puja.

Maha Navami is believed to be the day when Durga Maa defeated the evil Mahishasura. Also known as Durga Navami this day is celebrated on the ninth day of Navratri and the fourth day of Durga Puja. It is also celebrated as Ayudha Puja or Saraswathi Puja in South India.
