Udupi District Records 12th COVID-19 death, PFI Helps Family to Perform Final Rites
Udupi: A 70-year-old woman from Chantharu, Brahmavar died of COVID-19, in Udupi on July 22 night, taking the COVID-19 death toll in the district to 12.
The woman was suffering from asthma, fever and cold. On July 22, she was tested positive for the coronavirus. Her family members then decided to shift her to the hospital, but she breathed her last at her residence in the night.
The locals refused to help the family members to perform the final rites of the woman. PFI activists on humanitarian grounds arrived at the spot and helped the family members perform the woman’s final rites.
