Udupi, DK districts excel top positions in SSLC results

Bengaluru: Minister for Primary and Secondary Education Tanveer Set on Friday announced the results of Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC). The overall pass percentage is 67.16  which is almost less than 8% of the last year (79.16).

Udupi stands first with 84.23%, followed by Dakshina Kannada district with 82.39% and Chikkodi at 80.47%. Bidar district gets the last position with pass percentage at 62.2%.

A total of 8,77,174 candidates wrote the SSLC examinations which were held between March 30 and April 12.

Of the 8,56,286 candidates who appeared for the exam, 5,81,134 candidates have passed.

Announcing the result, primary and secondary education minister Tanveer Sait said that the results reflected only the effort of the students as all measures were taken to prevent malpractice. He also said that this year, no grace marks were given to students.

Sumanth Hegde from MES Kishor Kendra, Malleswaram, Poornananda from St Joachim’s High School, Puttur, and Pallavi Shirahatti from SRA composite Junior college, Bagalkot, have scored 625/625. Six students have scored 624/625.
