Udupi: It was a close shave for a youth in early hours of February 26, when a Fortuner hit the electric poll after smashing through the divider and rolled over at Malpe on the Manipal National Highway near Inox Manipal.
The car rolled over four times before coming to a halt but the car driver escaped with only minor injuries. The identity of the car driver is yet to be known. Sources said that the youth was a student of MIT Manipal.
The Car was on its way to Udupi from Manipal. Around 2:00 am, the incident took place near Inox, the car driver was under the influence of alcohol.
No case has been registered yet in this regard.
