Udupi: The district administration along with other departments will be organising the farmer outreach programme aiming at filling in new confidence among the farmers said Vinay Kumar Sorake, Minister for Urban Development and Minister in-charge District. He was speaking after the KDP meeting held at Dr V S Acharya Auditorium here on November 9.
The farmer outreach programme will be initially started in the Kaup constituency. Cooperative societies will be joining the initiative. The programme aims at providing financial assistance and also educating the farmers on exploring resources.
24000 applications of 94C have been received. The valuation aspect has been affecting in the clearance of the applications. The guidance value for land is very high in coastal Karnataka and needs to be reduced to Rupees 2000. The issue is discussed in the cabinet meeting and will be solved soon.
A proposal for releasing rupees 5 crore is sent to the government for repairs of Varahi irrigation project canals collapsed due to rains. The departments have been ordered to start the pending work from November 15. The central government has released rupees 9.13 crore for the development of 5 beaches which will be effectively utilized.
The state level Prathiba Karanaji programme is also organised in Kaup, he added.
