Udupi: A fire broke out at an apartment of Vishwas Traders situated in Kinnimulki here on Tuesday, March 3 but luckily no casualties or injuries were reported.
According to a fire department official, the department received a call about a fire at 9 am. Fire tenders rushed to the spot to douse the flames. The fire might have been caused as a result of a gas leak due to a loose cylinder regulator.
When flat owner Suresh Kumar lit his gas stove, it caught fire. Some electronic equipment, furniture and a few other valuables were gutted in the fire. The fire department official added that the exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
A complaint has been registered in the Udupi Town Police Station.
