Udupi: Brahmavar police arrested five persons in connection with a dacoit case in Sooryanaraayan and Sadnesh House at Cherkadi – Kunjalu on February 8 at Hangal taluk of Haveri distirct, here on February 16
The arrested have been identified as Basava, Ramesh, Raghvendra, Annappa and Malathesh, residents of Hangallu near Haveri district.
On February 8, night a man came to Sandesh’s house and knocked on the door, asking for medicine. When Sandesh opened the door to help him he was attacked and locked in a room along with his family. Later the gang had looted valuables and cash from the house and fled.
In a swift operation the Brahmavar police have succeeded in arresting five persons from Haveri. Police seized 6 mobile phones, One Laptop, One silver chain, RS 4000 cash, Iron Rod, and a Indigo Car from their possession.
The operation was carried out under the direction of Annamalaiah Superintendent of Police, Santhosh Kumar ASP, Chandrashekar DySP Udupi, Arun Naik CPI Brahmavar, Girish Kumar SI Brahmavar and police staff Kanthappa, Sudesh Shetty, Ramesh, Prasad, Jeevan Rakesh, Naveen Kumar, Jayakar, Lokesh Naik, Prasad Nagaraj, Shivananda, Dinesh Karkala, Nithin, Mohan Naik, Raviraj, Lohithashva, Beerappa and Hosamani.
