Udupi: Five students of Mount Rosary Santhekatte win Rashtrapathi Puraskar

Udupi: Three Guides and 2 Scouts of the Mount Rosary English Medium School in Santhekatte-Kallianpur have brought laurels to the school and the district by winning the coveted Rashtrapathi Puraskar given every year to the Scouts and Guides.

School Headmistress Sr Adrian Serrao said that Suraksha Kotian, Oriel Sequeira, Joslita Fernandes, Calvin D’Souza and Adithya Shenoy representing the Scouts and Guides of Mount Rosary School have won the Rashtrapathi Puraskar.

President Pranab Mukherjee will give away the awards shortly. The students were guided by Captain Umesh and Magdalene Cornelio.

The students have won the award based on their performance in the aptitude and written test conducted by the Government for the Rashtrapathi Puraskar at Davangere Kondaje, and Chikkaballapura in September 2014. The same set of students had won the Rajya Puraskar in the aptitude test and written examination conducted in Kondaje Davangere in March 2014.

Correspondent of the school Fr Philip Neri Aranha and vice-president of Mount Rosary church Jerry Vincent Dias congratulated the students and lauded the efforts of the Headmistress of the school and other staff members for guiding the students to reach the milestone.
