Udupi: Forest Department officials rescued four pythons from the land of Purushotham Shetty at Puttur near Ambagilu Udupi here on Thursday February 11.
According to sources the land owner Purshotham Shetty while levelling his land using JCB, noticed a python which came under the JCB. He soon found another three pythons nearby and informed snake catcher Gururaj Sanil. After receiving the information, Sanil along with the forest officials reached the spot and rescued all the 4 pythons, Out of the four one one which had come under the JCB is severely injured.
Speaking to mediapersons Gururaj Sanil said that we have rescued the snakes from LVT Puttur and handed them over to the forest officials. Forest officials later released the pythons in the forest area. The pythons are not poisonous, these usually wander into the villages in search of food, he added.
