Udupi: The Hiriyadka Police on November 25 arrested a person for his involvement in snatching gold chain from Old women in Gudnupade, Pernankila and Harikhandige.
The arrested has been identified as Prashant Shetty (31) resident of Bellampalli.
During interrogation the accused confessed that he used to rob women who were walking alone on the road. The police recovered 68 grams of gold worth Rs 2.10 lakh and a Honda Activa Scooter from him.
The operation was led by Arun B Nayak CPI Brahmavar, Rafeeq M PSI Hiriyadka, ASI’s Ramesh, Shekar, Agustine Quadros, Puspa, HC’s Prabhakar, Sudesh Shetty, Shashikumar, Laxman Prabhu, Shekar Malpe, Santhosh, PC’s Rajesh Kokkarne, Shanoor Bhasa Mulla, Nagendra, Abdul Nazeer, Rajesh, Mohan Kotwal and Gopal took part. Superintendent of Police Annamalai announced reward to the team.
