Udupi: ‘I have no regrets on implementation of Yettinahole project’ – Veerappa Moily

Udupi: “I have no regrets on the implementation of Yettinahole project and if Janardhan Poojary feels satisfied by giving statements on the project, he is free to do so as he is a senior Congress leader, said Veerappa Moily, former CM of Karnataka. He was speaking to mediapersons prior to addressing the party meeting in Congress Bhavan, Bannaje here on September 13.

He said that the Yettinahole project was started 5 years ago. Former CM B S Yeddyurappa then formed an expert committee of DK and Kolar districts to review on the project. The expert committee of 5 members made a study on the project and submitted its report to the government. D V Sadananda Gowda along with Jagadish Shettar and Siddaramaiah have discussed the issues of the project.

B S Yeddyurappa had made budget allocation of funds for the project. The project was also approved by the Central Environment Department. With the approval of the Environment Department, the foundation stone for the project was laid.

He declined to comment more on the details of the project but said that the details were published in the website. He also said that there were no political intentions attached with the project. The people of Chikkaballapur and Kolar are facing drinking water crisis and the project would solve the drinking water crisis in these two districts, he added.
