Udupi: Jowar Chariot model attracts visitors at Pejawar Paryaya Ugrana

Udupi: The historical Paryaya of Pejawar Math Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji is adding beautiful colours to the tradition and culture of the temple town. Food items are stored in the warehouse managed by volunteers of Dharmasthala Gramabhirudhi Yojana near Sri Krishna Math parking area. Food items are collected by the committees formed in the local areas and later brought in a procession and stored in the warehouse.

The food items which include vegetables, rice, food grains, coconuts, oil, and tender coconuts are stored in the warehouse. The volunteers ensure cleanliness and quality while food items.

Models are being made using jowar, tender coconut, paddy and arecanut. The chariot made by using jowar is the centre of attraction.

The volunteers of Dharmasthala Gramabhirudhi Yojana have set up a temporary warehouse (Ugrana) measuring 85 feet in width and 60 feet in height. Perishable food items are preserved and the non-perishable food items are maintained in the stalls. Certificates are being given to Devotees donating food items.

The food items will be used for the Paryaya prasadam (meal).
