Udupi: “The KPCC should have given me a chance to express my opinion before initiating disciplinary action for contesting as an independent candidate in the upcoming MLC elections,” said Jayaprakash Hegde, former MP Udupi-Chikkamagaluru LS Constituency.

He was addressing mediapersons in Udupi on Monday, December 14, after he was removed from the party by the KPCC president.

Hegde said that he did not receive any official information on the disciplinary action. “KPCC president Dr G Parameshwar has given a statement in the media about it and this has pained me. Pratap Chandra Shetty had declared that he would not contest the elections. Yet, he was given the ticket.”

“I have not violated the party rules. I am not rebelling against the party, but contested the election for the party workers. I have not contested by violating the party norms and suppressing party values. While I contested for LS polls, even senior party leaders joined me for the campaign but Pratap Chandra Shetty did not even bothered to join the campaign. The party should initiate disciplinary action against him,” he added.

Looks like Pratap Chandra ( Bull) Shetty has screwed up the chances of his own community guy. J P Hegde should not have tried for MLC ticket in the first place.
