Udupi: Labour Department Rescues 10 Child Labourers in Malpe Fishing port

Udupi: Ten children employed at the  fishing harbour Malpe were rescued early morning on Tuesday September 29.

On the basis of a Complaint the Child protection committee members along with the Labour department, District Child workers department, Education department, women and child welfare deparment, BSW students of Thenakanidiyoor College jointly raided Malpe Harbour in the morning. They found two boys and eight girls working in the fishing harbour.

The rescued children were handed over to the State Home Nittur and Spoorthi Vishwasada Mane Bantakal.

Labour Officer H P Jnanesh, Prabhakar Achar, Ramamoorthy, M Prasanna, Suresh Bhat, Shwetha N, Yogish, Xaviour Castellon and Hema Nayak took part in the rescue operation.
