Udupi: Ashok Kumar Shetty, headmaster of Srinikethana High School Matapadi,Brahmavar has been chosen for the national-level Best Teacher Award 2015.
Ashok Kumar Shetty started his carrier as assistant teacher at Sri Vani Higher Primary School Nadoor. He has been serving as the head master in Srinikethana High School Matapadi for the past 26 years.
Ashok Kumar Shetty had his primary and high School education at Sri Vani Higher Primary School Nadoor and Government High School Kokkarne, and PUC education at National Pre University College Barkur. He did his B.A. Degree at Milagres College Kallianpur and B.Ed. at the Jananagagothri Bengaluru, He did his M.A. in the Karnataka University Dharvad and MEd from Annamalai University Chennai.
Ashok Kumar Shetty Earlier received the district level best teacher award in 2005, State level best teacher award in 2011. He was also honoured with the Grama Bachath Yojana award and Sadhaka Shikshaka awards.
Ashok Kumar Shetty will receive the award from President Pranab Mukherjee at the Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi on Teachers’ Day on September 5.
