Udupi: Pramod Madhwaraj, MLA of Udupi Constituency, laid the foundation stone for 7 projects costing Rs 17.65 crores here on April 24 in the presence of scores of party workers and villagers.
The projects undertaken under ‘Namma Grama, Namma Raste’ are the 4.02 km Havanje-Dompada Kumeri road costing Rs 3.05 crores, the 2.64 km Kunjalu-Addilu road costing Rs 3.55 crores, 1.74 km Cherkadi Gudarikallu road costing Rs 1.34 crores, 3.39 km Kalthur–Santhekatte-Kakkunje road costing 3.71 crores, 4.68 km Kokkarne-Muddur road costing 2.62 crores, 2.04 km Kokkarne Horlali-Biyali-Horlali road and the 1.77 km Nalkur-Nacharu road costing Rs 1.43 crores.
He also visited the Havanje Mahalingeshwara Temple and launched the temple website. The road constructed to the temple was also inaugurated.
Pramod Madhwaraj speaking to Mangalorean.com said that the projects, costing a total of Rs 60 crore, will be inaugurated in the coming days. Oscar Fernandes, a Rajya Sabha member, will be inaugurating the swimming pool at Ajjarkad. The foundation stone for the Neelavara bridge costing Rs 9 crore will be laid as promised during the election campaign, he added.
Pramod arrived in a bus to lay the foundation stone along with the party workers and his followers.
Yuvaraj, CMC President; Gopi K Nayak, ZP Member, Janardhan Thonse, President Town Development Authority; Umesh Nayak, Diwakar Kunder, Celina Karkada, Ramesh Kanchan, Meenakshi Madhav, Vikash Shetty and others were present.
