Udupi: “We do not need your ‘Man ki Baat’ dear PM Modiji, but break your silence on Sushma Swaraj and Vasundara Raje,” said Youth Congress Leader Amrith Shenoy. He was speaking at a protest organised by the District Youth Congress, Udupi in front of the Clock Tower here, on June 18.
“Every BJP leader has come out for the protection of Sushma Swaraj, the Minister for External Affairs but PM Narendra Modi is silent. Sushma instead of pressurising the British Authorities to deport former IPL Commissioner Lalith Modi but recommended to issue travel documents to him on humanitarian grounds. The BJP led NDA government came to power promising transparency and a corruption free government but is now shielding an accused who is being probed by the enforcement directorate. This highlights their intention.”
“Sushma Swaraj’s husband and daughter are the defense counsel to Lalit Modi. To help the client of her husband and daughter, she remained quiet even when the high court ordered to return back Modi’s passport. The External Affairs Minister remained quiet and never bothered to file a petition in the Supreme Court questioning the High Court’s order. The fugitive absconded with 1000 crore rupees with the provided travel documents, but PM Narendra Modi is silent on this issue. The top claims of BJP leaders over good governance are in vain.”
“When the BJP’s boat was sinking in Karnataka, Sushma Swaraj visited Karnataka to set right tensions between Yeddyurappa and the Reddy brothers. But when the CBI started the probe on Yeddyurappa and the Reddy brothers, Sushma remained silent.”
“The Chief Minister of Rajasthan Vasundara Raje was a witness to Lalit Modi and wanted the British authorities to not inform the same to the Indian authorities. The bulk investment by Lalit Modi into the business deals of Vasundara Raje’s son indicate that the BJP supports corruption.”
“The BJP had then delivered lectures on black money and promised to bring it back in 100 days if they were elected to power, but till today the promise seems to be in vain,” he added.
Senior Congress leader Janardhan Bhandarkar said that the Brigades which were formed to work for strengthening the election perspectives of BJP have vanished. “They should come out and explain the irregularities and U-turns of the government. The promises of BJP given during the elections are in vain but their promise to curb corruption seems to be irrelevant in approach as their own ministers are supporting a fugitive,” he added.
Vikas Shetty, Youth Congress President; Sunil Bangera, Abdul Aziz, Sujay Poojary, Chandrika Shetty, Rohit Karamballi, Surendra, Samuel Issac, Vishwas Amin and others were present.
Let the Churches be attacked in front of him, let the Lalit Modi issue may turn like an inferno, Modiji will not open his
mouth. Nero played the fiddle while Rome was burning!
