Udupi: One person was killed and 3 others were injured when an auto rickshaw overturned near NH 66, near Brahmabaidarkala Garodi, Yermal Thenka, here, on December 19.
The deceased has been identified as Sharan (33), an auto driver and a resident of Kaup.
According to the police, Sharan was taking passengers on his auto rickshaw towards Padubidri from Kaup. The vehicle overturned after the driver applied sudden brakes to avoid hitting a pedestrian who suddenly tried to cross the road.
Sharan was killed on the spot. The two passengers along with the pedestrian were also injured. They have been rushed to the hospital.
The Padubidri police have registered the case.
