Udupi: Police Nab Inter-district Motorcycle Thieves

Udupi: The Udupi Town Police nabbed two accused in several motorcycle thefts in the undivided districts here on February 20.

The accused are identified as Ramesh (23), a resident of Hangunda, Bagalkote and Sandeep (29), a resident of Jeppu Mangaluru.

Udupi Town Police Station crime PSI Rajesh while checking vehicles at Beedinaguddde found bike rider Ramesh acting suspiciously and failing to produce records of his bike. Ramesh was taken into custody and interrogated during which he admitted that he along with his friend Sandeep were involved in the motorbike robbery in Kavoor. Police soon detained Ramesh and on interrogation it was revealed that they had robbed a blue coloured motorbike in Attavar. The police seized three vehicles robbed by the accused. The police also found that Sandeep was involved in other robbery cases and a case was registered against him in Mulky police station. The accused were produced before the court which remanded them to judicial custody.

The case was investigated under the guidance of SP Annamalai, ASP Santosh Kumar, DySP K M Chandrashekar, CPI Srikanth, PSI Rajesh along with Prakash, Mohan Kotwal, Sudhakar Bhandary, Shanker, Harsha K L, Vishwanath and Sudhakar.
