Udupi Police Search Accused in Five-year-old Girl Molestation Case

Udupi: In a distressing episode that underscores the vulnerabilities faced by children in contemporary society, a five-year-old girl was allegedly molested by an unidentified individual in Udupi city. This tragic incident, which transpired near the PPC area on Thursday afternoon, not only highlights the grave issues surrounding child safety but also underscores the pressing need for swift and decisive action from law enforcement.

According to reports, the accused is approximately 30 years of age. Following the incident, the girl’s parents filed a complaint at the Udupi Women’s Police Station, prompting the police to investigate.

In response to this egregious violation of a child’s safety, Women and Child Development Minister Lakshmi Hebbalkar, currently receiving medical treatment due to an accident, has emphasized the urgency of the matter. She has directed the District Commissioner and Superintendent of Police to expedite the investigation and ensure the swift apprehension of the perpetrator.

Minister Hebbalkar’s instructions highlight the importance of immediate action not just in arresting the accused but also in providing comprehensive support to the victim and her family during this harrowing ordeal.

To facilitate the arrest of the accused, the local police have released surveillance footage showing the accused and are appealing to the public for any information that could lead to his identification and capture.
