Udupi: Sri Rama Sene leader Pramod Muthalik demanded the government to treat all religious minority groups equally and stop appeasing only the Muslim community here on Sunday, July 26.

Addressing a press meet at the Narashima Temple Manipal, he said that the minority commission was established to help all religious minority groups including Christians, Buddhists, Jain, Parsi and others, but only the Muslim community was deriving most of the benefits.

“From the day of its inception, the posts of the president and the secretary has been occupied by members of the Muslim community and others have been denied of this opportunity. Does it mean that there were no eligible persons to occupy these posts among other religious minorities?” he questioned.

He said that only Muslims were getting a majority of 90 percent of financial assistance through various schemes and a similar facility was not available for other minority groups.

Sri Rama Sene members met the State Minority Affairs Minister Khamrul Islam during the Belagavi session and urged him to ensure equality by doing away with the practice of nominating persons belonging to a particular community as head of the commission.

Sri Rama Sene will hold a demonstration again in Bengaluru at the end of July and urge Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to take up this issue, he said.

Pramod Muthalik strongly condemned MIM President and MP Asaduddin Owaisi’s statement on the SC’s decision of a death sentence to Yakub Memon and objected him for finding fault with the Supreme Court’s judgment.

“The court, constitution and the President of India found him guilty and confirmed his death sentence. Then how can Asaduddin object Yakub’s death sentence? If he doesn’t agree with the Indian Constitution, then he is free to shift to other country. Those who have no faith in Indian courts and Constitution can leave the country. Film actor Salman Khan on Sunday also objected Memon’s death sentence. Khans should respect Indian Constitution before commenting,” he added.

He also said that Sri Rama Sene has decided to celebrate its Decennial celebration in a grand manner in 2016 with the participation of all Swamijis and Hindu outfits.

Mahesh Kumar, Praveen Walke, Kumar Balemar, Mohan Bhat, Prashuram Nadumani, Ananda Adyar, Sabitha Ranganath, Shyamprasad and others were present.

As much as we find it uncomfortable, this is precisely why we need right-wing groups in a vibrant democracy. In politically correct world of clueless secular society, truth can be seen as a ‘hate speech’!! Other minorities in India are clearly bullied into silence by ‘peaceful’ group. I remember one astute author pointing this out with an example of ‘chicken biriyaani’ which ended up confusing political illiterates on this forum!! In fact, the author was attacked by members of his own community for pointing out the truth!!! How sad and ironic!! Our minority groups are very good in attacking their… Read more »

Dear Ravi, it is just rivalry between the siblings! Togadia became an Oratoric Wizard long before Modi was known to the public, but Modi became the Prime Minister overtaking the oratoric grand master.
