Udupi: Priyanka Mary Francis took charge as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Udupi Zilla Panchayat here on Tuesday, November 17. She took charge from outgoing CEO, M Kanagavalli.
Priyanka, an IAS officer of the 2009 batch, holds a degree in Electronics Engineering (Instrumentation). She has earlier served as the Chief Executive Officer of Chikkamagaluru Zilla Panchayat. After her IAS exams, she joined as the assistant commissioner of Belgaum district. She was later promoted as the commissioner of Belgaum.
Outgoing CEO, M Kanagavalli, has been posted as the deputy commissioner of Koppal district. She was given a farewell at the Zilla Panchayat Auditorium and honoured with a shawl, garland, fruits and memento.
Officials and members of the Zilla Panchyat spoke on the occasion and appreciated Kanagavalli’s work and successful tenure. Her efficiency, commitment and other unique contributions were highlighted in their congratulatory remarks.
ZP president Savitha Kotian, standing committee president Gowri Devadiga, Deputy Commissioner Dr R Vishal, SP of Udupi Annamalai and others were present.
