Udupi Reports three COVID-19 Deaths in Single Day
Udupi: Thursday was a dreadful day for the Udupi district as the district recorded more than one COVID-19 death for the first time after the pandemic broke out. Three deaths have been reported from the district on the day. With three more deaths, the total death toll in the district stands at 8.
A 49-year-old patient who was admitted to the Govt hospital, Udupi for High blood sugar, was shifted to the TMA Pai Hospital, Udupi on July 16. He breathed last on July 16 morning.
In another case, a 58-year-old person from Maravanthe admitted to a Kundapur private hospital for Asthama treatment breathed last on July 15 Night. His swab was sent for COVID test and confirmed to be positive on July 16.
In another case, a patient from Ankola of Uttar Kannada district was admitted treatment at Manipal Hospital. He too breathed his last on Tuesday, July 14 night. His throat swab was sent for test and was confirmed to be positive for COVID-19 on July 16. His funeral was held at the Beedinagudde crematorium as per the COVID norms.
