Udupi: A senior Congress leader was killed in a road accident on NH 66 in front of Uchila Mahalaxmi Temple here on May 11.
The deceased has been identified as Y S Ahamed (70), a resident of Bhaskar Nagar Uchila.
The incident took place while Congress leader Y S Ahmed was returning home from shop, a Mini Bus going towards Mangaluru from Bhatkal collided into Ahamed’s Mahindra Duro two-wheeler. Ahmed was killed on the spot. Y S Ahmed was a renowned person in Uchilla, he worked as Congress Sthaniya Samithi president for nearly 20 years.
He is survived by wife, 3 sons and 3 daughters.
A case has been registered in Padubidri Police Station
