Udupi all set to receive Darshan of Mata Amritanandamayi
Udupi: Preparations for the visit of Mata Amritanandamayi Devi popularly known as Amma are on in full swing said Raghupathi Bhat working president of Amritha Vaibhava. Amma will visit Udupi on February 25.
Speaking at a press meet held at Amritha Vaibhava office on February 22 he said that, a public reception Amritha Vaibhava will be hosted to welcome Amma at the Mahatma Gandhi Stadium on February 25 at 6:00 pm. Giving details about Amma’s programmes, he said Amma will deliver a spiritual discourse followed by a session of meditation and Bhajans. This will be followed by Darshan when Amma will grant individual solace to all with her loving embrace, he added.
However, a token (to be given free of cost) for the darshan is a must, he said and added that tokens are must for infants too. The distribution of tokens will be done on first come basis to those seated on the chairs provided at the centre of the stadium. Seating arrangements have been made to accommodate at least 25,000 to 30,000 people. The Samiti has also made elaborate arrangements to serve food for the devotees who come for the event. The meal distribution (Maha Anna Santharpana) will commence only after Amma’s Satsang and Bhajans on the day (February 25) and will continue till 1:00 am on February 26. An information desk close to the entrance manned by volunteers will guide the devotees as required. A canteen too will be set up at a nominal cost for the convenience of the devotees. The seating arrangements have been made in such a way that devotees sitting in the last row would also have a proper ‘darshan’ of Amma, he said.
Special invitees holding an invitation card can park their vehicles adjacent to the programme stage. VIP’s can park their vehicles near Sharada residential school ground at the back side of the stadium from where they can directly enter the venue. However, general parking has been arranged at the following locations. For two wheelers UPMC ground Kunjibettu, For Cars EMHS Ground, Sharada Kalyana Mantapa ground, BJP office ground, Royal Garden. Buses and vans should be parked at the Mahatma Gandhi ground Beedina Gudde, and Pilichandi Daivasthana Ground. A special vehicle arrangement facility is available from the Royal Garden to the Programme venue.
Karnataka Governor Vajubhai Rudabhai Vala, State fisheries, youth affairs and Sports and also district minister in-charge Pramod Madhwaraj, State Endowment minister Rudrappa Manappa Lamani, Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP Shobha Karandlaje, Rajyasabha member Oscar Fernandes, Manipal university pro-chancellor Dr H S Ballal, and others will be participating in the programme.
