Udupi: “Shree Shabarigiri Rakshna Manch will raise its voice to protect the ancient tradition of Shabarimala Temple which is against allowing women of 10 – 55 years of age,” said K K Sabhu. He was speaking to the mediapersons at a press meet held at Press Club, here on February 22.
He said, “Atheists who are unaware of the rich tradition of the temple have filed a petition seeking entry for women into the Shabarimala Temple.”
The committee will play an important role in the formulation of policies regarding the temple, the astrologers and temple priests are aware of the customs and traditions. “The law cannot suppress the temple rituals and traditions,” Sabhu added.
Sabhu said, “A prayer is organized in Kerala and 25,000 Ayyappa devotees are expected to participate. Shree Shabarigiri Rakshna Manch has decided to oppose the petition filed by atheists in the name of women. We will defend our customs and traditions in the court. No one can ruin our Hindu customs and traditions.”
