Udupi: The characteristics like simplicity and politeness has strengthened Vinay Kumar Sorake’s political career said Dr Mohan Alva, Chairman Alvas Educational Institutions. He was speaking after honouring Vinay Kumar Sorake, Minister for Urban Development and Minister in-charge District in a public felicitation programme organised by Kaup Abhivridhi Samithi and Paura Sanmana Samithi at the Janardhan Temple Auditorium Kaup, here on July 12, for converting Mallaru, Kaup Padu, Uliyaragoli gram panchayats as Kaup Town Municipality.
Sorake’s sheer dedication towards uplifting marginalised and poor has made him a popular leader. The regularisation of the services of municipality group D workers indicates his love and compassion for the poor. Sorake’s political career has no black spots and he has not restricted himself to his caste but has lived up to the expectations of the people of all walks of life, he added.
Shree Lakshmivara Theertha Swamiji of Shiroor Math said, “The responsibilities of Minister Sorake towards his constituency has doubled after the public felicitation. Sorake should be a model minister to other ministers in the state cabinet and be the CM of the state, he added.
Fr Stany Tauro lauded the service of Vinay Kumar Sorake and said that Sorake has strived hard for the development of Udupi district. He understands the requirements of the people and takes necessary measures to implement them. He also has a soft corner for the poor and the deprived and works for their welfare.
Vinay Kumar Sorake after accepting the felicitation said, “The Kaup constituency will witness overall development with the public support. The prayers and support of the people of the constituency has helped me to win the assembly elections and hold the office of Urban Development minister. Kaup is a hub for all activities and efforts will be made to develop the constituency.
