Udupi: The house of Souza’s – a household name throughout the length and breadth of coastal Karnataka – will launch its retail outlet for cashews and dried fruits at the Church Building situated on the prominent K M Marg in the city at 4 pm on October 25.
Rajya Sabha MP Oscar Fernandes will inaugurate the outlet. Fr Fred Mascarenhas, parish priest of Mother of Sorrows Church will bless the outlet in the presence of Yuvraj P, the President of City Municipality of Udupi. K Narendranath Kamath, DGM of Syndicate Bank, Mangaluru will be the guest of honour. Prominent businessman Airody Ghanashyama Pai will initiate the inaugural purchase.
The retail outlet will be a One-Stop Shop for nutritious nutty delights like plain cashew nuts, almonds, walnuts, dates, pistachios, figs, apricots, raisins, salted and flavoured cashews, gift boxes and gift items. This will be the first of its kind shop in the city and will be welcomed by all the consumers in the district, who will have access to the finest nut-food in the future.
The house of Souza’s is one of the oldest and most reputed in the field of Raw Cashewnut imports, processing and exporting for the last four decades and has factories in Puttur, Mangaluru and Udupi. Their export destinations are spread over 40 countries in the world including USA, Canada, Europe, Japan, Korea, the countries in the Middle-East and the African continent.
Dr Christopher D’Souza, the Managing Partner of the new venture, has solicited the gracious presence of the consumers at the inaugural and thereafter on all working days.
