Udupi: The Spandana Education Fair by Spandana channel will be held on 25 April at the U S Nayak memorial Hall, Hanuman Compound Chitpady. Social and Educational leaders and huge number of students will be participating in this fair.
Addressing the mediapersons, Vilas Nayak Managing director of Hanuman Group of Concerns said that, Spandana Education Fair will felicitate the winner of Spandana Smart Scholarship Awards 2015 Exam conducted on January 18, 2015 by Spandana HD TV across 25 different exam centers in its coverage area. A record of 7461 students appeared for the exam.
Total of 100 students are selected on the basis of scholastic aptitude and attitude and each of them will be awarded with Spandana Smart Scholarship Award worth Rs 10000/- each. A debate competition will be held among these 100 students to select 1 student for the much coveted Spandana Smart Scholarship Crown Trophy along with cash prize worth of Rs 100000/-.
Hanuman Charitable Trust, G Shanker Family Trust and GSB Samaja Hitharakshana Vedike Udupi District have contributed for Scholarship donations.
Less number of candidates came from the Karavali and Malnad region for the Civil services, IPS and IAS. Hence exam was conducted to test the General Knowledge, Scholastic aptitude, linguistic ability, mathematical ability and current issues. The social and educational leaders participating in this fair will guide the students with 4 seminars on Career guidance.
A seminar on “Government role in empowering youth through education” will be given by Kimmane Rathnakar (Minister of State Primary and Secondary Education Karnatka), and presided by G Shanker (Chairman, G Shanker Family Trust).
“Charms and Challenges of Civil Service” Session by Annamalai IPS Superintendent of Police Udupi District), presided by Indrali Jayakar Shetty, General Manager Badagbettu Credit Co-operative Society Pvt Ltd.
“Role of Institution and parents in youth education” session by Usha D Prabha Nayak Director Expert PU College presided by Vivekananda Shenoy (Convenor GSB Samaja Hitharakshana Vedike),
“Value based Education” session by Kajampadi Subramnaya Bhat (Convenor, Kutumba Presided by Padeep G Pai (MD, Hangyo Ice Creams Pvt. Ltd.)
