Speaking to mediapersons Patrick Farmer said that I am very excited to be running the length of India. I have started my run on the Republic Day of India and the Australia Day. The marathon run aims to inspire people to achieve their dreams. I meet students and people during the course of my journey. My act should inspire them to achieve anything in life. I started my run from Kanyakumari and I have planned to cover 80 km a day before ending my run in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, covering the distance of 4600 km.

The main aim of running the marathon is to strengthen the relationship between India and Australia. The world is troubled with violence and terrorist activities. The marathon also aims to raise funds for the education of poor girl children in the country. If you educate a girl child, you will educate a family and in turn will educate the nation. “I am raising 100,000 Australian dollars to educate the girl children”, he added.

Patric later proceeded to Kundapur via Brahmavar. In Kundapur he will interact with the students of Bhandarkars Arts and Science College. From there he will continue the marathon to Honnavar and Karwar, he will reach Goa on February 8.
