Udupi: The Congress led state government should hand over the mysterious death case of IAS officer D K Ravi to the Central Bureau of Investigation rather than delaying by ordering CID to investigate the same, said MLC and former minister, Kota Srinivas Poojary. He was addressing the mediapersons at a press meet held at his office here, on March 20.
“The government is shielding the accused, involved in the mysterious death case of D K Ravi, else they would have handed the probe to the Central Bureau of Investigation. D K Ravi’s parents are protesting outside the Vidhana Soudha demanding justice but still the government is firm on its stand of probing the case through the CID. The senior IAS officers of the state have written letters to the Prime Minister demanding a CBI probe into D K Ravi’s suspicious death. The government’s own officers have lost faith in it.”
“We supported the government to introduce Annabhagya and other similar schemes as they were associated with the lives of the people, now we will launch severe agitation against the government as we have lost an honest officer. 5,410 suspected H1N1 cases have come to light, and 2,051 cases are confirmed across the state. 6 H1N1 cases are registered in Udupi District, where 2 have lost their lives. There is acute shortage of medicines in the district, where only 170 tablets are available. The state government should release relief fund to the families of the deceased in H1N1 disease. If the government fails to solve the problem, severe protests will be held,” he added.
