Udupi: In a serial theft that occurred in Alfa Tower near Kinnimulki here, between the night of April 19 and the wee hours of April 20, cash, valuables and documents worth over Rs 1.5 lakh were stolen.
According to police sources, thieves broke into the office of Image Builders and Developers, owned by Seeraj Uumar, through the front door. They broke open cupboards and looted Rs 1.5 lakh in cash. Later, they entered Grace Tech Enterprises on the Ground floor, owned by Jaya Maben, and took away some documents. The incident came to light in the morning of April 20, when shop owners came to open their shops.
The Malpe Police visited the spot along with a dog squad and fingerprints experts. A case has been registered.
