Udupi: The Padubidri police have arrested two youth in connection with the theft of phones from a mobile shop in Mudaragadi here on Friday, December 18.
The arrested have been identified as Mohammed Thousif (19) and Faizal Peeru (19), residents of Kanchinadka near Padubidri.
According to the police, the accused broke into a mobile shop owned by Walter in Mudarangadi two months back and looted mobile phones, a computer and other items. On Friday, Padubidri police Inspector Azmath Ali and his team arrested the accused in Padubidri.
During interrogation, the police found that Tousif and Fizal were involved in the theft of mobile phones and vehicles in Shirva and Padubidri station limits. Police have recovered 45 mobile phones, one computer monitor and 5 motor bikes from their possession.
Under the direction of SP Annamalai, ASP Santhosh Kumar and DySP Suman, the team led by Kaup CPI Sunil Nayak and Padubidri PSI Azmath Ali conducted the operation.
