Udupi Town Police raid Matka gambling den, Arrest Two
Udupi: The Udupi Town Police arrested two persons in a raid at a Matka gambling den at the service and City Bus-stand in the City on Wednesday, October 24.
The arrested have been identified as Sanjeeva Devadiga a resident of Alevoor and Santhosh Poojary of Udupi.
On Wednesday afternoon Team Mangalorean received information that some people were involved in Matka gambling in a telephone booth near the City Bus-stand. Team Mangalorean immediately relayed the information to the district SP. The SP passed on the information to the Udupi Town Police Station.
The Udupi Town Police inspector Ananathapadmanaba, acting on the information raided the Telephone Booth and petty Shop and arrested two persons who were operating the Matka. The police seized a total of Rs 4500 cash and Matka slips from the accused.
A case has been registered in the Udupi Town Police Station.
