Udupi: Two persons were injured when a private bus collided into a car on NH 66 near Bittu Dabha Hejamadi – Mulki border here on Monday February 23.
The injured have been identified as car driver Ashfaq (24) S/o Farooq and his relative Mayiz (22) S/o Siddiq, both residents of Hejamadi.
According to police, Ashfaq and Mayiz were on their way to Mulki from Hejamadi in a Suzuki Swift car, a bus plying from Mangaluru to Udupi collided into their car. Due to the impact, the bus and the car hit a electric pole. Asfaq and Mayiz were injured in the mishap and have been admitted to a hospital in Mangaluru. The passengers in the bus luckily escaped without any injuries.
The traffic on the highway was blocked for some time. The Padubidri police arrived to the spot and cleared the road.
A case has been filed in the Padubidri police station.
