Udupi: A disturbed and desolate-looking man in dirty clothes was found moving around in Balaipade near Udyavara on the outskirts three days ago. He was found to have been starving and tired without any shelter.
Some good-hearted passersby, at the initiative of John Rodrigues who runs a rickshaw in the area, had him admitted to the Vishwasada Mane home for psychiatric resettlement in Shankerpura. Pastor Sunil John D’Souza willingly took him under his care.
The man spoke only in Hindi and does not remember the names of his immediate kin nor his domicile. The attendants gave him a decent wash and draped him in new clothes. He is responding well to the love, care and attention he has been getting.
