Udupi: Four unidentified persons looted more than Rs 7 Lakh from a fisherman in Kadekar near Malpe here, on Friday, January 16.
The incident took place near Kadekar around 5:30 am on Friday, January 16 when fishermen Lokanath, a resident of Kadekar, was on his way to Malpe for fishing related work on his Honda Activa. Three unidentifined persons arrived in motorbike, attacked Lokanath and threatened his life. They later escaped with the bag containing more than Rs 7 Lakh kept in the Activa.
Udupi SP Annamaliah told Mangalorean.com that they have started the search for the culprits and investigations are on to find out the exact amount that was looted.
A case has been registered in the Malpe Police Station.
