Udupi: The shutterbugs of Udupi Press Photographers Association (UPPA) celebrated World Photography day jointly with Rotary Club by honoring senior photographer Raghav Padmashali.
Entrepreneur Nadoja Dr G Shaker presented the title Chaya Spoorthi to Raghav Padmashali.
Raghav Padmashali speaking on the occasion said that he has been into the photography profession from 65 years. Having rich experience in black and white photography, he says that it was a tough task compared to modern photography. “In olden days, if you would manage to get 12 good photographs of a wedding celebration it was a matter of pride.” He remembered his brother who was his mentor in photography.
Nadoja Dr G Shaker said that there is a lot of difference between modern photography and that of the olden times where one was honoured for quality work.
Janardhan Kodavoor, President of UPPA welcomed the gathering. Astro Mohan, senior photojournalist, compered the programme.
Poornima Janardhan, Hemanath Padubidri, Ganesh Kallianpur, Prasanna Kodavoor, Prasanna Kumar, Surabhi Ratan, Ananth Krishna Bahagavath and others were present.
