Udupi: Grama Panchayat Election – 59.66 per cent polling in distirct till 3 pm

Udupi (Update 3 pm) : Around 59.66  per cent of the electorate have exercised their franchise till around 3 pm in district

The Taluk – wise percentages:

Udupi –  59 percent

Kundapur –  57 percent

Karkala – 63 percent

Udupi (Update 1 pm) : Around 50 per cent of the electorate have exercised their franchise till around 1 pm in Udupi district

The Taluk – wise percentages:

Udupi –  50 percent

Kundapur –  47 percent

Karkala – 53 percent

Udupi (Update 11 am) : Around 36 per cent of the electorate have exercised their franchise till around 11 am in Udupi district

The Taluk – wise percentages:

Udupi –  34.95 percent

Kundapur –  35 percent

Karkala – 37 percent

Udupi (Update 9 am) : Around 16.16 per cent of the electorate have exercised their franchise till around 9 am in Udupi district

The Taluk – wise percentages:

Udupi –  16 percent

Kundapur –  15 percent

Karkala – 17.5 percent

Udupi: Voting Begins for Gram Panchayat Polls in District

Udupi: Polling for the Gram Panchayat elections in the district began on Friday May 29 with over 697,523 voters eligible to exercise their franchise.

As many as 4,740 candidates are in fray for the 2398 seats in 155 gram Panchayats in Udupi district. Though the number of available seats are 2,398, a total of 272 members have been elected unopposed.
There are a total of 697,523 voters in the district, of which 3,65,042 are male, 3,65.042  female voters and 25 third gender voters. The number of candidates elected unopposed in Kundapur are 142, Udupi—90 and Karkala—40.
For the 733 seats in 62 gram panchayats in Kundapur taluk, a total of 1693 candidates are in fray. Two thousand and eighty two candidates are contesting for 941 seats in 59 gram panchayats of Udupi taluk and 965 candidates are contesting for 452 seats of 34 GPs in Karkala taluk.
Counting of the votes will be held on June 5.
