Udupi: Wilma Pereira, a proud inmate of the Manasa Rehabilitation and Training Centre Pamboor Shirva, has been selected for the World Special Olympics which will be held from July 21 to August 5 at Los Angeles in United States of America.
Wilma Pereira hails from Permannuru near Mangaluru and is a proud child of Lawrence and Jacintha Pereira.
Wilma will be representing India in the Handball event. She has attended national level coaching camps held at various centers, in Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bareilly and other places.
She will be leaving from the Chennai International Airport on July 20. Till now, six students from the centre have represented India in the World Special Olympics. There are more than 150 students in the centre, which has been honoured with national and state awards.
