Udupi Youth Congress Demands Amit Shah’s resignation over Allegations against Jay Shah
Udupi: The Udupi district youth Congress president Vishwas Amin demanded the resignation of Amith Shah as the BJP Chief over the dramatic increase in profits in his son Jay Shah’s Temple Enterprise company and also for a fair inquiry of his company which closed down after it gained Rs 80 crore income.
Vishwas Amin was speaking during a protest held by the district youth congress at Kaup Bus stand on Monday, October 23. He said that the magic by which the company which was running at a loss in 2012-13 and also in 2014-15, increased its business turnover by more than 16,000 times after the BJP came to power and demanded that Amit Shah should immediately tender his resignation from the post on moral grounds. The people of the country want to know the truth about these allegations and demanded that PM Narendra Modi immediately seek the resignation of Amit Shah.
Vishwas Amin further said, “Before the elections, Modi had said that he does not want to become the prime minister and be the chowkidar (watchman) of the country’s wealth. Now, where has the chowkidar gone!. Recalling Modi’s assertion that he would neither engage in corruption nor allow it to happen, Vishwas said, now when Amit Shah’s son’s company has grown 16,000 times, Modi has gone silent”.
Congress leader Suhail Kandak said that while the country was still waiting for “acche din” as promised by the Modi-led government, the Congress government in the State has already given such days to the people here through its welfare schemes. While campaigning for the Lok Sabha elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said that, if voted to power, the NDA would bring back the black money within 100 days of forming the government. “Modi had even said that it was possible to deposit Rs 15 lakh in the bank accounts of each Indian citizen after the black money was brought back from foreign countries. It is unfortunate that even after completing 3 years as Prime Minister, Modi has failed to fulfill the pre-poll promises. The BJP fooled the public to get votes. Modi should apologize to the citizens for misleading them for political gains, he added.”
The Modi led government at the centre has utterly failed to check corruption at the highest level. Modi had said ‘na kaunga, na khane dunga‘ (will not engage in corruption myself, nor allow others), but now the question is being raised over his party president’s son. It is the right of the citizens of this country to know the truth behind what was claimed in the media reports regarding Jay’s company. The allegations against Jay Shah son of BJP President Amit Shah is not a concocted story, these charges are made with facts and figures and need to be proved by an independent agency, he added.
Youth Congress district Secretary Vignesh Kini, State Secretary Abdul Aziz, Kaup Youth Congress president Melwin D’Souza, Congress leader Devi Prasad Shetty, Geetha Wagle, Kiran Kumar, Naveenchandra Shetty, Sowmya, Deepak Kumar and others were present.
